Access Statement (Accessibility & Access to Content)
Scholar Vision Network – Access Statement
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
1. Our Commitment to Access
Scholar Vision Network (“SVN,” “we,” “us”) is committed to making our content, platforms, and experiences as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible. Our vision includes creating a space where people from diverse backgrounds, identities, and abilities can engage with our media safely and meaningfully.
This Access Statement describes steps we are taking to support accessibility and how you can contact us with feedback.
2. Digital Accessibility
We are working to ensure that our websites and digital experiences are usable by as many people as possible, including individuals with disabilities. Our ongoing goals include:
✨ Designing and developing our primary website and streaming platform with consideration for WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.1 at the AA level where reasonably feasible.
✨ Providing clear navigation, readable typography, and consistent page structures;
✨ Using alt text for key images and meaningful icons, where practical;
✨ Maintaining sufficient color contrast for key text and interface elements;
✨ Supporting screen reader compatibility as much as possible;
✨ Avoiding content that flashes or blinks excessively and could trigger photosensitive reactions.
Because we utilize third-party technology providers (for example, for streaming and membership infrastructure), some aspects of accessibility may depend on those platforms’ configurations and features. We aim to select vendors with strong accessibility practices and continue to review these choices over time.
3. Access to Audio & Video Content
We recognize that accessibility also includes access to the substance of our content.
Where feasible, we strive to:
✨ Provide captions or subtitles for core video content;
✨ Offer transcripts for selected audio or video programs, including key series and flagship episodes;
✨ Indicate content warnings or advisory notes for sensitive themes (such as trauma, violence, or other potentially triggering topics), where appropriate;
✨ Organize content in ways that make it easier for educators, families, and communities to locate material suited to their needs.
As an independent media network, we are continuously building our library and may not have captions or transcripts available for all content at launch. Improving accessibility over time is a priority and part of our ongoing production process.
4. Inclusive Environment & Respectful Engagement
Scholar Vision Network hosts content that engages with complex, nuanced topics—including identity, spirituality, injustice, and lived experience. Our goal is to facilitate thoughtful, respectful, and dignified engagement.
To support a safe environment, we may:
✨ Moderate or limit certain user comments and interactions;
✨ Establish community guidelines that prohibit harassment, hate speech, or targeted abuse;
✨ Provide options for members to report content or interactions that violate our standards.
We do not tolerate discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion, or other protected characteristics.
5. Limitations and Ongoing Work
Despite our efforts, we acknowledge that:
✨ Not all content or features may be fully accessible at all times;
✨ Some accessibility barriers may exist due to legacy content, technical constraints, or reliance on third-party platforms;
✨ Accessibility is an evolving practice that requires ongoing attention, collaboration, and improvement.
We are committed to reviewing feedback, prioritizing fixes, and integrating accessibility considerations into our future design and production processes.
6. Feedback & Contact
Your feedback is essential in helping us improve. If you:
